My latest project: SayNoToMo
By Betsy Richter | 3:03 pmIt’s a kid-free weekend. I’m washing dishes while the homemade mini-muffins (destined for quick to-go breakfasts next week) bake.
I’m also writing blog posts in my head, adding to-do’s to the always-running mental to-do list, and thinking about changes I still need to make to the seventh (or is that eighth?) website I just birthed earlier this week (I opened my mouth at yet another evening meeting to volunteer to create and host a site and discussion forum for my daughter’s school, and cranked something out in less than 36 hours, no less…)
Yep, it’s just another day at Short Attention Span Central, it is…
And while my brain’s busy chattering along, it introduced yet another random tangent – a reminder that I need to gear up for another November participating in NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month.)
I did NaBloPoMo last year – and loved every minute of it (even though I barely dragged myself across the finish line.)
But this year, I need to jump on a new bandwagon. Even if it’s one I start myself.
So, for this November, I have decided that I will appoint myself as the president and founding member of what I’m betting will be the newest, hottest Internet craze:
Say No To More – better known as SayNoToMo.
(Since it’s not yet a national movement, I can’t yet add on the Na part, right?)
Who else is in with me? If it takes off I might just make banners. Incorporate. Buy the domain and start yet another site…
Oh, wait – where was I? That’s right.
Repeat after me: Say No To More.
(Why do I have the funny feeling I’ll need to say that over and over and over again to myself – perhaps with some accompanying thumps to my forehead with a blunt instrument – before it really, truly sinks in…?

I want to say yes but gosh this is a soon to be national movement to say no. How can I say yes? I’m so confused! :)
Seriously, I’m with you. I’m better at it but still say yes too often.

If saying yes to this can generate more no’s this is a good thing. Put me down!

Ha! I think you should start SayNoMoBlo, meaning, Say Not to More Blogs! Um, I’m totally doing the daily post in November thing a majig. I just find it kickstarts my creativity and imagination a bit. But I can totally understand cutting back if you need to: good luck with that!

So no to more… preaching to the converted – and yet, it seems none of us are likely to actually do it!
Btw, I ended up here due to your twitter (re: google apps I think), spotted the white pixels in your blog banner img, had photochop open (honest) and thought I might be able to help…

As of today I am adjusting to the idea of having to withdraw from NaNoWriMo due to finding work in Seattle.
What amazes me is how relieved I feel to think about having evenings and weekends without the additional personal projects. Didn’t know it was weighing on me.
