Monday SAS – holiday preparation tips
By Betsy Richter | 5:47 am
- TiVo alert: The best Christmas special ever is on at 7 pm on Wednesday the 8th on the Family Channel. And that Heat Miser? He’s too much…! After all, everything starts to melt in his clutch…what’s not to love about that?
- Ack! (Yes, I know I could have used the way predictable ‘oy!’ – but chose not to since I’m not really one of the Chosen People…) I forgot to get the chocolate gelt this weekend! Hanukkah starts Tuesday night…and in past years, Wild Oats has had a good supply of gelt in bulk. Must stop later today…(need potatoes for latkes as well)
- Those of you without children buying for the children of friends you’d like to keep as friends after the holiday season? Here’s the quick list of things to avoid: pieces (as in gazillions of little beads…plastic things…or anything else step-on-able), noise-producing (steer clear of the battery-operated stuff) or construction kits requiring heavy parental participation. Not so interested in preserving the friendship? Two words: Polly Pocket. Trust me on this one…
“Yes, I have a not-so-secret lust thing going for this hottie…
…and I know I’m not alone.”
Oh, and for those of you wondering about the resolution to this post? The rubbermaid totes are up from the basement…and rumor has it there’ll be a tree early next week – once we’re through with Hanukkah, that is…!

That’s one of my favorite holiday specials too!

Rugrat Blogging
This week’s Carnival of the Rugrats is up at Catawampus. I remember to get Sadie in it this week. Yay!
Next week it will be hosted at My Whim

Us too! Even BK (before kids) we’d wait for that one to come on tv and sing along with Mr Heatmeiser. Altho husband and son watched Little Drummer Boy the other afternoon and the general consensus is that the production quality is, well, pretty sad.

Ooh, Heat Miser! I dislike the rest of the show, but Messers Heat and Snow Miser are worth the price of admission. (Did you see the Incredibles? I think it’s not coincidental that the villain’s hair looks just like Hear Miser’s.)

I haven’t seen The Incredibles – but I can think of a lot of villains with heat-miser hair: The Joker, Don King, etc.

Heatmiser? Ever hear them? Elliot Smith and Pete Krebs (Hazel, etc), Sean Coombs (Quasi). No wonder you are in lust.

You mean there’s a musical reason as well?
I am so doomed…
