Oh, the weather outside is…

By Betsy Richter | 8:32 am

..not that frightful, actually. At least the winds that have been rattling my windows for days have died down, and the ice on the ground should soon melt, taking the sodden lumps of what was once snow with it.

But I’m going to stick to my resolution to stay inside until every single last bit of precipitation out there has melted. Besides, my kids are sprawled on the floor of the living room, and they’re sleeping in a pile of blankets, abandoned cups of hot chocolate in the Santa Claus mugs hinting at the rip-roaring time we had here last night. (Rule One: Do NOT wake sleeping kids unless there’s a compelling reason to do so. And no, I did not drug the kids – and my cup was the only one containing peppermint schnapps. Honest.)

And since I have already emailed in my Work From Home status and the kids are out of school this week? There’s no compelling reason that I can see – can you? (Getting DM to her all-day program doesn’t count – especially when they’re opening late as-is.)

So it’s back to the kitchen, where the work laptop is set up (deliberately not enabled with either personal email or blog-ability – I have work to do, damn it!) Someone send up a flare when it’s liquid enough to move around out there, will you?

Compelling Reason #1: Kids are awake. Kids are fighting.
And the holiday camp for DM opens at…9:30?
We’ll be there shortly thereafter…

Snow ninny. I just want to know- do you ever stay in your pajamas when you work from home? It makes snow- or in your case, slush- days ever so much more bearable. You can put your coat on over them for kid drop-offs. Sounds as though you were all having fun last night. Be merry!
